(*WIP*) Lost Brother of the Queen (Main Faction Quest)

Still unsorted and rough, not fit for Storybook at the moment

Sequence of Events

  • Quest Trigger: The quest can be triggered randomly when notthe inplayer is near Anti-Magic territoryterritory, (butthough very close to it), but haswith higher chances ofif triggeringthe withplayer has a positive reputation with the Factionfaction.
  • First Encounter with the BotQ: The Brother of the Queen (BotQ as placeholder name)BotQ) is a powerful Druid (Healer variant),. The first encounter might beinvolve helping him in a fight, but he's strong enough that he doesn't really need the help unless it's a late-game encounter
  • encounter.
    • DuringBotQ's theLine: first encounter he won't interact much with the player, only saying: "Appreciate the help, even if it wasn'wasn’t necessary against small-fry like this. I'I’d love to stay and chat, but there'sthere are a few grouchy old fools I really don'don’t want to run ininto right now,now. soSee see yayou later~"
  • Shortly after hethe BotQ leaves, a group of Knights (later revealed to be the Royal Knights)Knights will appear and ask for directiondirections.
    • If you tell the truth,Player Tells the nextTruth: (bonus)A bonus encounter will be with the Knights will occur.
    • If youthe lie,Player theLies: The next encounter will be with the BotQBotQ.

Later Encounters

  • LaterSubsequent encounters will progressively getmove closer to the center of the Anti-Magic territory, butthough the 2ndsecond and/or 3rdthird meeting could still be outside of the territory

    Influence of the questQuest on the faction

    • After the second encounter of the quest, members of the faction can be encountered a lot more often outside their territory, but uncharacteristically they'll try not to pick fight with mages and in extreme cases might even cooperate with them
    • Upon completion of the quest:
      • the Council will have one more member (probably affects only lore?)
      • The Royal Knights will come out of retirement (Faction has a lot more High-Level Units)
      • The attitude towards mages is less hostile, no more "Driving out Mages" Quests, will be changed to "Take care of Mage-Bandits" (name needs to be work-shopped)
      • Mages can now appear as mercenaries (very rarely) to provide support to the Faction

    Effects of the quest of Gameplay

    • After the second encounter, reputationfaction members will be more frequently encountered outside their territory. They will avoid conflict with mages, and in extreme cases, might even cooperate with them.
    • Upon Completion of the Quest:
      • The faction's council gains an additional member (probably affecting lore).
      • The Royal Knights will return from retirement, providing the faction with more high-level units.
      • The faction’s attitude toward mages will become less hostile. The “Drive Out Mages” quests will be replaced by “Take Care of Mage-Bandits” (name still needs to be workshopped).
      • Mages will occasionally appear as mercenaries, offering support to the faction (very rare).

     

    Effects on Gameplay

    • After the Second Encounter: Reputation with the Factionfaction will riseincrease aslightly bitat everyeach nodenode, as long as the quest isn'isn’t somehow aborted

    • Upon completionCompletion of the quest:Quest:
      • Unlock the Druid Class.
      • Unlock the Gremory Class (Mage+Mage + Healer), whenprovided Main Quest ofthe Magic FactionFaction’s main quest is also completedcompleted.
